CCSWO - Parenting and Enrichment Programs

ATTENTION PARENTS:

Are you searching for ways to become more effective? Are some ages more of a challenge to your parenting skills than others?

If so, help is available through Catholic Charities. Get new ideas for addressing those day- to- day parenting challenges. Learn to balance love and limits, and feel good about your ability as a parent. We have several different parent programs that are available. We are committed to helping people to grow within themselves, so we offer a variety of workshops for personal growth, designed to help you be competent and successful in your relationships with others.

So, call for programs about Grief and Loss, Forgiveness, Stress, and a whole lot more! Workshops can be designed to meet the needs of a particular group, and you can even schedule a program on location in your community!

Training is also offered to schools, churches and agencies that would like to give peer support to children who are experiencing a significant loss. RAINBOWS is a proven program that fosters emotional healing to children grieving a life altering crisis. Media, Peers and other Influences on the Family

Being a parent in today’s world can be challenge with so many things that compete for family time and values. Learn about the myths and facts regarding how these factors impact your children and what you can do about them. This one session program will be offered from 7-9 p.m. on July 8 at the Centennial Barn 110 Compton Road and another on August 12 at the Hyde Park Health Center, 3983 Rosslyn Dr. The fee is $15.00 per person. Parents, Kids, and Boundaries

Deciding what to do or not do for people is an important element of our relationships. This workshop will focus on defining boundaries, and give examples of how to apply them in a variety of situations. This one session program will be offered from 7-9 p.m. on July 22 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, 7820 Beechmont Ave. (Heritage Hall East) and another on August 19 at the Centennial Barn 110, Compton Road. Spirituality and Parenting

Learn about how to put your faith in action to address the day-to-day challenges of being a parent, turn your values into practical learning experiences for your children, and use rules to grow your children into responsible adults. This one-session program will be offered from 7-9 p.m. on July 29 at Corpus Christi Parish Center, 2014 Springdale Road. The fee is $15.00 per person. Bullying: What’s a Parent to Do?

If you have concerns about bullying in your community, this program is for you. In the workshop you will learn how to recognize bullying behaviors, what to do about them, and 10 Skills that Empower your Children. This one session program will be offered from 7-9 p.m. on August 5 at the Mercy Hospital Western Hills, 3131 Queen City Ave. in Fitness Room A The fee is $15.00 per person. Job Loss Support Group

If you are out of work and need support for the ups-and-downs that accompany such a loss, support is available through the Job Loss Support Group. The group meets at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Anderson Township from 7:30 to 9:00 pm. This free program, facilitated by Sandy Keiser, LISW-S offers a place for people to talk about their experiences and get support in a comfortable and confidential setting. Growing Up Again

You deserve to be the best parent you can be! Learn how to be a confident parent in today's world. This four session class will provide information about communication skills, being consistent, changing old patterns, and much more! Join us for the Growing Up Again class that begins September 30 from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. at Hyde Park Health Center, 3983 Rosslyn Drive.
