Adoption Profile: Michael & Kelly
Our paths first crossed nine years ago on the intramural flag football field at the University of Michigan. We began dating soon after and were married four years ago. We are both very active people and enjoy spending time together participating in sports, having dinner with friends, and playing board games. We believe that our love for each other, our compassion for others, and our Christian faith will serve as a solid foundation on which to build our family. We are both very excited to start a family!
Kelly
Kelly is patient and always thinking about how she can help others. She is a strong and confident woman who takes personal pride in everything that she does. She grew up playing many sports, and even today, must always be active doing something. Whether it’s cycling, swimming, walking the dog, trying new recipes in the kitchen, or simply working around the house, she will undoubtedly find something to keep herself busy. Kelly graduated from Purdue University before earning a Master’s degree in Biostatistics from the University of Michigan. She currently works as a statistical analyst for a local mid-size company.
Michael
Michael is out-going, compassionate, and easy to talk with. He is very thoughtful and puts others before himself. In his free time, he enjoys running, cycling, and visiting with friends. Michael also plays ultimate Frisbee and coaches the sport at the collegiate level. He spends time at home watching movies and taking care of the house, lawn, and cars. Michael earned a BS degree from the University of Alabama and a PhD in Economics from the University of Michigan. After teaching at a local university for several years, he is now pursuing a career in statistics at a local mid-size company.
Our Family
Kelly is the youngest of three. Her older sister has two children, with one on the way, and her older brother is expecting twins. Both her mom and sister live within driving distance and are able to visit often, especially for holidays and birthdays. Michael’s older brother and sister-in-law have two adorable children. Both his parents and his brother’s family live several states away, but we try to visit as often as possible. We both enjoy playing with, and spoiling, our niece and nephews.
Our Home
Our home is a modest sized ranch with plenty of room to play. We live on a cul-de-sac in a very safe neighborhood. Our street is full of kids of all ages running and playing outside. We also have a three year old mixed breed dog who is great with kids and loves to go on walks and visit the dog park.
