What is Home Health Care?

Home health care is a general term that represents a wide range of community-based services to support someone who is recuperating from an acute situation, such as a hip fracture, or needed by persons with ongoing health concerns, such as stroke, dementia, Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease and so on.  The skills and duties of home care personnel vary, but all have one thing in common – they make it possible for care recipients to remain at home in a safe familar environment and in some cases have more independence than they did before.  In the process, they also provide family caregivers with a chance to replenish their depleted physical and emotional reserves. Some home health care personnel include: therapists, registered nurses,  companion/homemakers etc. To find out more about home health care call the Caregiver CAREline at 513.929.4483.

If the many challenges of  family caregiving are becoming insurmountable, why not try visiting one of our 25 family support groups throughout the Greater Cincinnati area. Please call the Caregiver CAREline at  513.929.4486 for a support group near you.

Remember. You need to care for yourself in order for you to care for others.
