Caregiving’s Hidden Benefits

Presented by Liz Tassone, Gerontologist and the Host of the Caring Matters E-CAREline sponsored by Catholic Charities SouthWestern Ohio

Paula Span, writer of the New York Times blog  The New Old Age  and author of  “When the Time Comes:  Families With Aging Parents Share Their Struggles and Solutions”  has written an article entitled, Caregiver’s Hidden Benefits.  This article discusses “caregiver burden” vs. “caregiver gain”.  ”Could there be measurable benefits to your health, or to your brain in particular, from being a caregiver?”   Tune-in to hear Liz Tassone discuss the rewards associated with high-intensity caregiving vs. low-intensity or even non-caregiving. You will be surprised to hear what these studies reveal.
